Health and Safety
Little League Child Protection Program Grosse Pointe Farms-City Little League, like all local Little Leagues, are now required to conduct background checks on Managers, Coaches, Board of Directors members, and any other persons, volunteers, or hired workers who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. Individuals are also required to complete and submit a Little League Volunteer Application to their local league. Below is a link to the 2004 Volunteer Application. If you are a GPFCLL volunteer, please print out and complete this form and turn it in to John Remillet (in charge of volunteer forms), Dean Dauphinais (league president), or your league director. You will also need to attach a photocopy of your driver's license to complete the application. NOTE: All information is kept confidential and Volunteer Applications are shredded after the current season is over. Volunteer Application Little League Baseball's ASAP Safety Program In 1995, A Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) was introduced by Little League Baseball with the goal of re-emphasizing the position of Safety Officer "to create awareness, through education and information, of the opportunities to provide a safer environment for kids and all participants of Little League Baseball." This manual is offered as a tool to place some important information at the fingertips of managers, coaches, and other volunteers. This manual will allow for a safer environment for all of those participating in games, watching games, or even working at games. By following this manual, we can provide a safe program for our children without inhibiting the competitive spirit of the game. GPFCLL Safety Manual
